Weddings, Birthdays, and Missionaries...Oh My.

The past month has seen no lack of action for us. I will admit that my side of the family is mostly to blame. While Josh's cousin had the cutest little baby boy a few weeks ago, we only just met him at a family barbecue on Sunday. He is adorable (with TONS of hair), and we are so happy for Kiersten, Jake, and little baby Jake!

My cousin Talon got married last Saturday, so we all trekked down to Cedar City for the big event. Talon and Angelee are so cute together, and we are happy for them as well. Their wedding was great! The weather was warm (thank goodness), and the reception was a lot of fun. Their colors were red and yellow, which worked great together I think, and there was lots of dancing. The best part was seeing little Kashus...my "non" nephew. (He's really my cousin's baby). I got these fun pictures from the wedding! (Note Kashus' M&M face)

This week might prove to be the busiest of all. Yesterday a spur of the moment birthday party was planned for Kurtis, and we all fit ourselves into Grandma's house for the occasion. The chicken skewers were delicious, even if it was a little bit chilly for a barbecue! The whole family was there, minus just three - Darren, Kathrine, and Joshua (Day).

Joshua is coming home from his mission tomorrow, only to meet his new sister-in-law and to attend his sister's wedding on Thursday! (Welcome home to a whole new family Josh!) That's right. Talon got married last Saturday, and Andrea is getting married this Thursday. Her temple session is tonight, and then Thursday is the wedding! Add a missionary homecoming on Sunday and breakfast with Josh's family in the canyon for Memorial Day, and Josh and I just might need to be put in the loony bin by June 1st. Despite that sad fact, we are happy about all of the exciting things going on.

Introduction to Us

Hi everyone! We are Josh and KaLyn Villaneda. We have been married 10 months, have a cute little house of our own, and two goofy dogs that get spoiled rotten. We met at the dojo but didn't start dating until Josh came back from his mission to Brazil. A year and a half after that, we got married!

Josh is currently in school studying business management, but he really wants to change his major, so next semester might be a bit different for us! He's trying to decide between engineering (he thinks it would be really cool to work on fighter jets out on the air force base), video game art and design, or simply switching to the marketing side of business. I think he'd enjoy and do well in any of those fields. We've gone through the pros and cons of everything. Now it's up to him to make the decision.

I've already got my degree, but it sits on a shelf collecting dust, as there aren't many political science jobs available in this area. I work as an "administrative assistant" and try to do some work as a freelance writer on the side. I love writing, but to be honest I'd rather do it for myself than others!

We're into martial arts, movies, and reading (Barnes and Noble is a favorite stop for us on weekends). We may not lead the most exciting life, but the important thing is that we love it!
